Note

I wrote this piece during a visit to my grandparents' home in Bahrain, a place I hadn't visited since I was very small. My few memories of Bahrain were, as memories become over time, distant, distorted, and incomplete. It was interesting to see how the real Bahrain, especially my family's old home, differed from these fractured memories. However, old imperfect memories still serve as a place I can retreat to when I want to feel like a kid again, almost like a childrens' playground that sits permanently in my mind.
